4. Begin Diary of Romeo or Juliet. Start keeping the diary that either Romeo or Juliet might have kept from the time they met. Keep adding entries as the play progresses.

5. Write a newspaper account of the Capulet ball as it might appear in the morning paper.

Task 7:

Select an emotionally charged speech of about ten lines such as Romeo’s in Scene 1 (lines 183-192) or in scene 5 (lines 44-53). Practise reading the speech so you can make a presentation to the whole class. Consider the following when preparing your delivery:
– vary your pitch and volume
– use pause for effect
– make body language work for you
– breathe as naturally as you can

After you have delivered your speech, discuss with the class what your strong points were and how you could improve your presentation.
